Jennifer Burdette

Dr. Burdette was born and raised in Montgomery, AL and moved to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama for undergraduate studies with a major in chemistry. While there Dr. Burdette met her best friend, strongest supporter, and husband, Steve. Dr. Burdette then attended medical school at UAB and completed clinical rotations at the Tuscaloosa campus where she served as class president during her fourth year. Dr. Burdette completed her residency training at the Tuscaloosa Family Practice Residency Program, where she served as Chief Resident during her 3rd year. Dr. Burdette has been in private practice since completing residency and at Taylorville Family Medicine since 2004. Dr, Burdette has 3 amazing children, a daughter-in-law, and an absolutely perfect granddaughter that each bring her more joy than she can describe.

Melanie Davami

Nurse Practitioner

Melanie Davami was born and raised in Houston, TX. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in nursing at Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2014 and started working at the Houston Methodist Hospital as a registered nurse (RN). Melanie finished her Master’s degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2018. She met her husband in Houston, and they moved to Tuscaloosa in 2019 when he started working as a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Alabama. Melanie has worked in private practice offices in Tuscaloosa, but was most recently employed at the Tuscaloosa VA in primary care until late 2022. Melanie and her husband have one daughter who is the center of their world.

Brandi Torres

Brandi Torres is a Family Nurse Practitioner and has been in the medical field for 20 years. She believes that every single life matters, so she ensures that every day she handles her job with great careful attention.
She received her Associate of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bluefield State College. She furthered her education and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing in 2017.

Lesley Handjis

Lesley Handjis is a native of Meridian, MS where she obtained her associate's degree in nursing. She then completed her bachelor’s degree through the University of Southern Mississippi. She later moved to Tuscaloosa, AL where she worked as an RN while attending graduate school at UAB where she completed her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner. She and her husband have been living in Tuscaloosa since and now have three beautiful boys.
